ASHRAE calls for abstracts

ASHRAE is accepting abstracts for its 2022 Annual Conference, being held in Toronto, Canada, next year from June 25–29.

The conference will address the changes to buildings created by the pandemic and explore how this will affect the future of the built environment.

The conference will cover eight major themes:

• Buildings in the aftermath of COVID-19
• Connected buildings, connected communities
• IAQ, energy use, comfort and health of sustainable buildings
• Cold climate building system design, operation and resilience
• Professional development
• HVAC&R systems and equipment
• Fundamentals and applications
• Research summit to explore the latest research and findings.

Conference chair, Kristen Cetin, says as we move into 2022 and face climate extremes and natural disasters along with the pandemic, buildings continue to be critical to our everyday lives.

“These commercial, industrial and residential buildings in particular face an increasingly complex set of competing priorities to balance, as well as an increasing number of technologies and solutions to use and implement,” she says.

“The 2022 ASHRAE Annual Conference focuses on such diverse priorities and methods to address them, while considering the dynamic nature of such priorities over time.”

Abstracts of 400 words or less can be submitted until September 20, 2021. Technical paper submissions are also due by this date.

If accepted, the final conference papers will be due by December 1.
