AIRAH will host an in-person seminar titled Insights: Start the Conversation and Stop the Fire on Thursday, March 20 at Rydges Central Sydney.

The seminar is designed to provide valuable insights into the latest fire safety standards, best practices, and innovative solutions to enhance fire protection in the industry. Key fire safety issues include non-compliant fire damper installations, improper access panels, and unauthorised fusible links, all of which compromise fire protection.

Incorrect breakaway bolts and inadequate fire-rated materials further weaken safety measures. Engineers must select appropriate fire and smoke dampers, create design documentation, integrate systems, and conduct witness testing. Contractors must ensure proper installation, site interface testing, and maintain baseline data.

Compliance with AS1851 is essential for the routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems to ensure continued functionality and safety. Proper implementation of these measures helps prevent fire and smoke spread, protecting both assets and lives.
