Sustainable leadership drives long-lasting economic, social, and environmental benefits for businesses, says the Institute for Sustainable Leadership (ISL), which has launched a new microcourse on leading better meetings.
The ISL says that while meeting management may seem like a small procedural detail, it affects a range of other practices that influence performance, including employee engagement, retention, innovation, productivity, trust, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
“Poorly run meetings cost organisations in many ways: from wasting time, money and goodwill, to appearing badly led, and not getting the most out of opportunities,” says the ISL.
The microcourse, led by psychologist and organisational behaviour expert Doctor Gayle Avery, provides evidence-based tips and tools for better meeting management. The course covers meetings for innovation, team bonding or governance through to board, committee, and team meetings.
“Improved meetings mean increased productivity, innovation and wellbeing,” says the ISL. “In this microcourse, each session is designed around a specific aspect of managing a meeting. The focus is on providing you with practical ways of making meetings more effective and innovative.”
