MCE 2020 cancelled

Reed Exhibitions Italia has announced the cancellation of the 2020 Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE 2020) trade show. The next edition of the biennial event will be held March 8-11, 2022.

The European air conditioning, refrigeration and heating exhibition was originally scheduled to take place on March 17-20, but was later postponed to September 8-11 due to restrictions imposed over the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cancellation of Mostra Convegno followed, within weeks, that of Chillventa, another major European HVAC&R show. The latter was originally scheduled to be held in Germany in October.

“Due to the ongoing national and regional ordinances, still not ensuring resumption of exhibition activities in a short time, and multiple travel restrictions around the world, unfortunately, September is no longer a viable option, ” said Managing Director of Reed Exhibitions Italia, Massimiliano Pierini.

The organiser said the decision was made after listening to concerns and considering the impact of the crisis on the sector as well as assessing whether the event would be able to meet the exhibitors’ business needs.

In the coming weeks, Reed will be introducing a range of initiatives for 2021 under its #MCEMoveOnTogether campaign to keep the industry connected and moving forward, Pierini said.
